unkind women

audreymgonzalez@feminist kdrama feels:

“None of these ladies are nice and it is fantastic“.

Episodes 05 & 06   First impressions (up to episode 04)

“‘Each character was presented very systematically in a rather jarring way that did not function well with the overall tone of the show, which was that of a dark comedy. I do think that it needed to have settled into a stronger character. There was too much shifting between slapstick comedy, dark comedy, cartoon-like moments, and the tragic”.

“There’s only 24 episodes, but there could have easily been more — that’s how strongly written each character was”.

Series review

“The acting was good but I continue to keep the same opinion regarding Ha Na, as an actress she remains flat”.

Series review

“Somehow, this drama snuck into my favorite dramas with just one episode!”.

Episode 07  Episode 06  Episode 05  Episode 04  Episode 03  Episode 02   Episode 01

“The first few episodes reveal that plenty of hardships are hitting each of the “unkind” women. Rather than being unkind, they are strong women who have to persevere as they encounter adversities”.

First impressions

“The subtle jibes and verbal-smack-in-the-face moments were also written so beautifully. I am certainly taking notes on how to diss someone with elegance”.

Episodes 01 to 04

“This drama is definitely for the ladies in the sense that all the main characters are female and is following the issues that they have had and do have in their lives. It actually reminds me of an Amy Tan novel because of this.”.

“What a strange show! I was totally confused after watching the first episode. Curiosity made me keep watching and it progressively gets better every episode”.

First impressions

“Show does a quick job setting up the conflicts among our characters, and also the dynamics of the family of women. Elder daughter Hyun Jung is the so-called successful child, a senior news announcer, despite being single. Hyun Sook is the underacheiver who only brings her family problems. Soon Ok seems to show favoritism, but I believe there’s more to it“.
