Jing bi rok

william schwartz@hancinema:

“For the moment though, “Jing Bi-rok” is definitely engaging enough on its own production values and thematic merits to warrant further attention even for those of us without the right historical background”.

“I am 6 episodes deep in Jing Bi Rok’s world and i watched all of them in a single day”.

Episodes 01 to 06

” In commemoration of the 70th year of liberation from Japanese Occuapation, KBS1 decided to have the daeha drama of this year based on Jingbirok (懲毖錄), or “The Book of Corrections”, which was written by Minister Ryu Seong-ryeong (Kim Sang Joong)“.

First impressions

professor akia@akiatalking:

“I cannot believe I am saying this but I missed the old “classic” Korean history dramas. You know the ones that pretend that they are “Docu-dramas”. They have a narrator providing back ground information about the characters and events via voice over. Also, you have character names show up subtitled when they first appear in the show”.
