“As for now, with the second episode i’m really looking forward to Shin Hye and Jong Suk’s concrete chemistry that is about to make its appearance”.
“Amy: I was excited for Mr. Baek but I wasn’t sure what to expect as dramas like this tend to be hit or miss for me. I really enjoyed the first episode, though!
Wendilynn: I didn’t know what to expect either. All I knew is that our lead male, Shin Ha Kyun likes playing goofy characters and that I love Jang Na Ra. So I really wanted to see this one. Besides… Lee Joon makes excellent eye candy”.
“Not up to expectations but still worth the watch since it is fun”.
“Despite of the great cast and the solid script, everything began with a perfect rhythm, but felt short by the end”.
“Fresh off the gates, it has recorded the highest premiere ratings ever”.
“It looks like the show is going to go with plenty of intrigue and villain plotting. I don’t necessary have a problem with that, but I am actually a lot more interested to see how this once powerful Chairman adjust to everyday life and realize his vow of finally taking his time to really live”.
“Mr Back has completely captured my heart”.
“I am curious about how she would react if she learned the truth. It would be telling if she chose to stay by his side despite the circumstances”.
“I don’t know what’s with the fantasy genre and Wed-Thu slots, but we have a new fantasy genre drama from MBC, Mr Back, taking over the slot from My Spring Days. Episode 1 definitely looks more normal than Blade Man, but it requires as much (okay, maybe lesser) suspension of disbelief”.
“Mister Baek‘ is a classic example of a drama which seems like it has no idea where to go and what to do. Instead, it glues scenes together, uses as many elements to keep things going as possible and eventually manages to say very little about all of its themes. It is a shame, given the cast is good and that the emotions are often well portrayed and written into these scenes. A clear goal and a plot to achieve it could have made this great”.
